At the initial car design conference in China in 2008, run by the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers, Automobile Design Research presented a paper on ‘C-factor’. C-aspect is the idea that Chinese automobile design may seek to be (far better) identified as Chinese — to have some identifiable and attractive ‘Chinese-ness’, just as numerous other cars have a nationally distinct design and style orientation.
